This comprehensive DVD shows the technician how to evaluate each client according to the ancient Ayurvedic principles of doshas. It teaches the technician how to combine and apply the ingredients for 21 traditional Ayurvedic treatments, including 7 oil treatments, 2 facial treatments, 4 eye treatments, 1 Saffron milk treatment, 5 Ubtan (paste) treatments, 1 ear treatment, and 1 dry powder treatment. The technician will learn traditional Ayurvedic uses for sesame, coconut, castor, mustard & almond oil, as well as ghee, ashwaganda, narayan oil, and triphila. The technician will also learn how to make Ubtan paste treatments using Garbanzo flour, wheat flour, and a variety of other powders and substances. Time Duration: 91 minutes.

About Shirodhara: Shirodhara is a classic Ayurvedic treatment, thousands of years old, in which warm oil is poured in a continuous stream across the forehead. A vessel, suspended above the client's head, is used to pour the liquid in a pattern across the forehead and onto the scalp. Shirodhara boasts many wonderful therapeutic benefits, including enhanced blood circulation to the brain, improved memory, nourished hair and scalp, sounder sleep, and a calmer body and mind. Shirodhara is one of the most effective treatments for reducing stress and nervous tension.

The name comes from the Sanskrit words shiras 'head' and dhara 'flow'. The liquids used in shirodhara depend on what is being treated, but can include oil, milk, buttermilk, coconut water, or even plain water.
