Description

Epilar Hair Removal System - Permanent Hair Growth Inhibitor

Smooth SkinThe Epilar® System is a new and simple way to significantly reduce unwanted hair. Unlike lasers or electrolysis, the Epilar® System works quickly and painlessly and can be used on all skin types and hair of any color. The Epilar® System is less expensive than laser hair removal and electrolysis and does not require any investment in training or equipment.

The Permanent Hair Removal Facial is a specialized facial designed to smooth skin, remove facial hair and progressively inhibit hair growth with a patented technology hair inhibitor treatment that is gentle enough for the face. After 10-12 treatments, performed every 3-4 weeks, the client will progressively notice less hair growth until there is little or no regrowth left. The perfect solution for “peach fuzz”, it works equally as well for dark, coarse hair.

The Epilar® System includes two patent pending gels that are massaged into the skin immediately after a waxing or any other depilation method that removes the hair at its root. It works on follicles that are left empty after the waxing or other depilation, specifically on hairs that are active and in the growth phase. The two Epilar® gels are applied to the skin one after the other by a professional esthetician or skin care therapist in salons and spas.

Most Epilar® users will notice that the length of time for re-growth will be doubled and the number of hairs reduced at least 20% by each treatment. For best results, 8-12 treatments are recommended depending on the area of the body treatment. The procedure will reduce pain associated with waxing, increase the intervals between depilations, and leave the skin smooth and soft between treatments.

Set of 2 tubes (one activator and one inhibitor). Each tube holds 0.17 fl oz./5 ml. The Epilar® System boasts the following approximate numbers per both tubes - the profit potential is terrific with the Epilar Hair Removal System!

Epilar - A Technological Breakthrough in the Permanent Reduction of Unwanted Body Hair

The Epilar® System is an innovative and simple-to-use post waxing or any other procedure that leaves the follicles empty (sugaring, threading or tweezing) consisting of two gels that permanently reduces unwanted body hair, without harmful side effects and without the need for clinics to invest in expensive equipment like lasers, IPLs, or electrolysis.

For ten years, a team of Danish doctors and biochemists has been working on the development of an enzyme- based product for the removal of unwanted hair growth. The product has been tested, successfully demonstrating its safety, efficiency and complete lack of harmful side effects.

Everyone can be treated with the Epilar System assuming an individual skin-type has no aversions to waxing.

The product works on every color or type of skin, hair of all colors and types, anywhere on the body – men and women!

The only requirement is that the length of the hairs is minimum ¼ of an inch, which ensures an efficient wax treatment. It is important that the hair is removed by the roots, so the follicles are left empty enabling the Epilar System to enter the empty follicles. A client should complete the whole growth cycle of the hair.

How is an Epilar System treatment performed?
An Epilar System treatment is always carried out immediately after waxing, sugaring or threading or after removing hair from a smaller area such as the eyebrows or the upper lip with a pair of tweezers. It is very important to remove any wax residues after waxing with a new and clean strip. If done properly, this will ensure that the Epilar System is able to enter the open follicles effectively.

Waxing in general
Waxing is one of the oldest and most popular hair removal methods. Its popularity is mainly due to the fact that waxing is an inexpensive and very efficient way of getting rid of unwanted hair. The downside is that the hair grows back and new treatments are needed. Well, not anymore – if you follow these easy steps your clients will be fur free and fit for fun and happy after 8-12 treatments.

To get optimum results follow these easy steps:

Step 1
Inform your clients to exfoliate the area to be waxed the day before they are scheduled for a treatment with Epilar System. In most cases a dry brushing, the use of a Loofah sponge or a hemp glove is enough. This helps open pores and prevents dead skin cells from clogging pores and follicles. It is also advisable to inform your clients not to use make-up, deodorant or other skin products the day of the treatment.

Step 2
Make sure that everything is ready for the session. Control that the wax has reached the appropriate temperature (follow the instructions from the wax manufacturer carefully), make sure that the spatulas and strips are ready, place a pair of tweezers, soft tissue paper, a bowl of timid warm water and towels within reach, take the two tubes out of the Epilar System cylinder and remove the protective seal from the tubes and check whether your camera is ready. The camera is for before pictures which will help you document the progress of the treatment.

Step 3
When your client arrives fill out the Epilar System questionnaire together and make sure that he/she is not using Retin-A, Renova, Differin or Accutane as these prescription products tend to weaken the skin and damage of the skin especially in the facial area may occur when the wax is removed.

Step 4
Check your client’s skin and perform a dry brushing of the area to be treated if it is very dry, scaling or sun damaged. If he or she is wearing make-up despite your recommendation remove this with timid water or a steamed towel making sure that you dry the area completely before continuing with the waxing. Any use of cleansers, oils or other products should be avoided as these tend to change the natural pH of the skin and consequently reducing the effect of the Epilar System. Talc should not be used as it will block the follicles which need to be open allowing the gels of the Epilar System to penetrate.

Step 5
Depending on which area you are going to treat you will now be applying the wax – being either a soft or a hard wax. Both soft and hard waxes are formulated to be heated and applied to the skin. Soft wax dry slowly and remains sticky. Once applied to the skin it must be removed using a waxing strip. Hard wax, also called no-strip wax, dries firmly and can be lifted without a strip. Hard waxes tend to be gentler than soft waxes and are used for sensitive areas such as the lip, bikini lines and underarm. Soft waxes bind and pull hairs more forcefully than hard waxes.

Test the temperature of the wax on the wrist using an applicator or a spatula. Adjust temperature if necessary. The consistency should be soft rather than runny.

Dip a spatula or tongue depressor into the wax. Spread a thin, even layer of wax in the direction as the hair growth holding the spatula at a 45 degree angle as you spread the wax.

If you are using a strip wax: do not wait for the wax to harden but cover the wax with a strip, rubbing it in the same direction as the hair growth and leaving enough of the strip free allowing for a firm grip.

If you are using a hard wax: wait for the wax to cool off and harden.

Step 6
When using a hard wax lift the edge allowing you to get a firm grip of the wax.

Pull the skin stretched tight with one hand before pulling the strip or wax layer away.

With the other hand, quickly pull the strip or the hard wax in the opposite direction of hair growth staying close and parallel to the skin. It is extremely important to remove the strip low and parallel to the skin. If you pull up or out you risk lifting the skin, causing bruising. One fast, smooth, pull back is much more effective than a series of light pulls which only increase the pain and leave patchy areas.

Immediately apply pressure to the just-waxed skin by using your hand to soothe tingling nerve endings.

It is recommended to wax in sections and apply the Epilar System after each section is completed (see next steps) before continuing waxing. A full back e.g. should be divided in 4 quadrants which each should be completed before moving on to the next. This allows the Epilar System to penetrate the empty follicle before it shrinks or closes up.

Step 7
Immediately after having waxed an area you should remove any wax residues using a new and clean strip. Do not use water or cleansers as this would influence the pH and reduce the effect of the Epilar System.

Squeeze an appropriate amount of the Epilar System Inhibitor Gel (marked no. 1) on a finger tip and start massaging it into the area you just waxed.

Massage it thoroughly - crisscrossing the area for 1 minute.

If needed apply other drops of the Inhibitor and massage thoroughly for 1 minute until the area you have waxed is entirely covered in gel no. 1.

The Inhibitor Gel is very oily and does not penetrate the skin – which allows you to visually control that you actually cover the entire area which has been waxed.

The Inhibitor Gel contains the deactivated enzyme. The window of activity of the enzyme is extremely short and to have a product with an appropriate shelf life we have deactivated the enzyme.

Step 8
After having covered the area just waxed with the Inhibitor Gel, repeat step 7 using the Activator Gel (marked no. 2). Apply an appropriate amount of the Activator Gel to a finger tip and start massaging it in to the area just covered by the Inhibitor Gel. Make sure you crisscross the area and massage it in for one minute. You will notice that the viscosity of the two gels changes and that the complex now starts being absorbed by the skin. If needed apply more drops until the entire area is covered. The Activator gel has two functions: 1) to drive the Inhibitor into the follicles where we want it to work, and 2) to activate the enzyme when reaching the bottom of the follicle.

Step 9
Move on to the next area and repeat steps 5 to 9 thus completing the entire area to be treated.

Step 10
Go over the area just treated and remove any broken hair or hair that was not pulled out by the wax using a pair of tweezers. Even though the two gels of the Epilar System have been applied they will still work on the follicles you are “touching up”. While doing so please explain your client about the importance in maintaining their schedule and come in for a new waxing and a treatment with the Epilar System whenever their hair has sufficient length to be waxed and not to shave or otherwise remove hair between treatments as this could make hair jump a phase in their growth cycle.

End of treatment!

What results can be expected?
In order to destroy as much of the hair growth as possible, a person should expect to be in treatment for up to 12 sessions, depending on which area of the body is being treated. The clinical testing shows that a person needs between 8 to12 treatments to obtain a satisfactory result.

Both growth cycles and quantity of hair follicles vary in different parts of the body. In addition, the amount of body hair per individual also varies, as this is hereditary and therefore genetically determined. In order to achieve the best results, it is important to maintain regularity during the whole treatment period.

We recommend intervals between treatments of approximately 4 weeks for treatments on the face and between 5-6 weeks for treatments on the body. Regularity of treatments also prevents the possibility of jumping a hair generation. If hair follicles are not treated at the right time, new growth may appear after a treatment has been completed.

Furthermore, every individual has a different concept of when the end of the treatment has been reached, based on whether the amount of hair remaining is acceptable or not.

What are the results for the esthetician?
The Epilar System is a very easy way of turning your waxing business into something really profitable. Still you are most probably thinking that if the Epilar System stops the hair from growing then you are eventually going to lose you waxing business. Please consider the following before continuing thinking along those lines:
  1. Only 3 % of all hair removal in the US is done by professionals. A lot of the 97 % that shaves, plucks or waxes themselves at home would consider visiting an esthetician if these offered permanent solutions at affordable prices
  2. Happy Fur Free and Fit for Fun clients are the best reference any esthetician could have. Happy clients refer more clients, and
  3. Instead of spending money on waxing a lot of your clients would suddenly have the surplus to spend money on other treatments.
