7" Ultra Slim Fluorescent Mag Lamp / 3 Diopter.

This lamp combines the largest diameter lens with the most technologically advanced, slimline design and a unique 28 watt daylight, high light output tube. Simulated natural daylight facilitates better end results than with ordinary light. It allows excellent color matching and provides better clarity for detailed work. The color of the light from a daylight bulb is bluer than a standard light bulb. It is not a warm light, but a clear, almost white light. Daylight is a very honest light source, it will highlight any mistakes, increasing your confidence in your work. It enables the skin care porfessional to observe true colors and skin tones. Working with a daylight lamp helps combat the effects of eye strain and visual tiredness, which means the last client of the day is as happy as the first. Less tired eyes for the technician means they can work longer.

This lamp also has the ability to interchange lenses depending on the magnification that is required. The lamp is complete with a 3-diopter (1.75X) glass lens with a protective cloth cover. You can purchase additional high magnification lenses separately.

    Magnification, how does that work?

Diopter refers to the curvature of the lens. As the diopter increases, the lens becomes thicker and the curvature greater. As the curvature increases, light rays are redirected to fill a greater portion of the viewer’s retina which makes the object look bigger.

Magnification refers to how much larger an object is made to look through a magnifying lens. Magnification is typically indicated by an X such 2X or 4X.

To calculate the Magnification use the common formula:
Divide the Diopter by 4 and add 1.
