Set of 5 CoreStones® - The Ultimate Massage Therapy Tools

CoreStones® are made from soapstone, nature's most efficient thermal conductor. The weight and warmth of the stones helps relax muscle tissue, making it more pliable. The unique patented design allows the stone to become an extension of your hand and facilitates a deep release of muscle tension without causing tissue trauma. When applied to the skin, CoreStones® provide a sily, deep, uniform pressure, enabling you to achieve maximum therapeutic results while minimizing effort and reducing strain. Save your hands and extend your career - it's like having a stone thumb!

The 7" stones are primarily used for the legs - front and back, hips, and upper back. The length of the stone is used for longitudinal stroking and compression. The end is used for pressure point release. The 5" stone is primarily used for the back, arms, legs, and psoas. It has four usable surfaces; the length is for longitudinal stroking and compression, the flat end if used for pressure point release, the rounded end is used to work around bony landmarks and the angled end is used for cross-fiber friction, deep specific work, and working under the scapula. The 3 1/2" stones are primarily used for the neck, arms, and abdomen. The 2 1/2" stone is used for facial massage, reflexology, and deep specific work. Available in a set of 5 or 7.

Set of 5 Includes:
  • One 7"
  • Two 5" (one with an angle for specific point work)
  • Two 3.5"

CoreStones: The Ultimate Massage Therapy Tool

CoreStones have been developed with the practitioner in mind, allowing the therapist to work longer with less effort and strain. CoreStones are easy to hold and easy to use, reducing strain on your hands, wrists and thumbs.

The unique shape of CoreStones is designed for use in reflexology, trigger point therapy, and myofascial release. CoreStones get deep into the muscles, facilitating a deep release for the client without creating tissue trauma.

Hand made in the USA from non-absorbent American soapstone, nature’s best thermal conductor, CoreStones maintain heat and cold longer than any other stone. When applied to the skin, they provide a silky, deep, uniform pressure.

  • CoreStones are made from soapstone, nature’s most efficient thermal conductors. Uniquely designed, CoreStones allow massage therapists to release muscle tension without creating tissue trauma.
  • The cylindrical shape of CoreStones allows them to be an extension of your hand.
  • The broad flat surface is ideal for myofascial release and, turned on end, CoreStones can be used as a trigger point tool.
  • Because the surface of the stone is larger than our thumb, clients can tolerate more pressure and get deep relief from muscle tension without additional pain.
  • Myofascial release
  • Trigger Point release
  • Deep muscle therapy
  • Reflexology
  • The best thermal conductor of any stone.
  • Retains heat and cold longer and more uniformly than other stones.
  • Non- absorbent for easy hygienic maintenance.
  • Silky smooth texture feels luxurious on the skin.
  • Soapstone is believed to assist with finding inner peace.
  • Soapstone creates positive energy around itself and exerts a calming influence on the person using it.
  • It can be used when undergoing great changes in life.
  • It allows one to release old routines and to create new, loving environments.
  • It moves one to action and helps to prepare you for anything!
  • Heat in a water bath, a multiple temperature towel cabinet or a portable stone heater.
  • Hot stones are effective for increasing circulation and relieving muscle tension
The application of heat creates vasodilation which allows the muscle to begin to soften and relax – this makes it easier on you and your client when you start to do deeper work.

Heat and slow sustained pressure are effective in releasing fascia. The warm broad surface of a CoreStone can assist you in releasing myofascial restrictions and this enables the body to have a deep therapeutic release of muscle tissue with minimal effort on the part of the therapist and minimal ‘guarding’ from the client.

Keep your stones moving at first to dissipate the heat. Once they have cooled a little you can slow down to do more specific work.

  • NEVER place & leave a hot stone directly on the skin
  • If you can't hold the stone, it’s too hot to use
  • The temperature should be between 110°-120° Fahrenheit
  • Everyone has a different tolerance for heat
  • Remember to always listen to your client!
  • Chill your stones in an ice bucket or freezer.
  • Cold stones are effective for reducing inflammation and treating acute injuries.
  • Used to tonify and stimulate.
  • The temperature should be between 25°-64° Fahrenheit (or room temperature).
When using cold stones it is important to warn your client that you will be applying a cold stone. Unlike using heat, you should hold the cold stone in one place for a few seconds to allow the body to accept the sensation of cold. Our bodies have internal sensors that scream ‘oh, that’s hot’ – or ‘that’s cold’ and it can take a few seconds for the brain to register ‘that’s not so bad’. Because blood tends to move away from cold, cold stones can be used to treat headaches and sinus congestion. Use cold stones for immediate relief after an athletic event. A woman experiencing a hot flash will greatly appreciate the use of cold stones.

  • Reduces congestion and inflammation in an isolated area.
  • Results in less pain and stiffness for your clients.
  • End with cold to encourage the body to internally heat itself and give long lasting relief
  • Soap and water
  • Method All-Purpose Cleaner
  • PureGreen24 Disinfectant
  • Run through your dishwasher
Taking your stones to a sink can be messy and may result in chipping your stones. We prefer using a spray cleaner. After a session, place your stones on a towel, spray them down, wipe them off and put them back into a stone warmer. This is clean, easy and efficient. If you want a deep cleaning, you can run your CoreStones through a dishwasher. Just be sure there’s space between the stones so they don't collide with each other and chip.
